Help with Y2D

Hi All,
Well Ive had my new morse y2d for a couple weeks now. I replaced the strings with 10-46 and adjusted the truss rod a small bit too accomodate the change. I now have some pretty annoying buzzing on the first few frets( 1-4 about ) which has slowly been revealing itself . Id hate to adjust the truss rod further since the action will be so high itll be unplayable. Can anyone offer up some advice as too what I could do to fix this? Id like to take care of this myself since I honestly dont trust the local guitar tech too touch this.

if it's buzzing that close to the nut......yer truss rod is too tight.
loosen the truss rod little bits at a time....like 1/8 a turn til the buzzing just barely goes away. then lower the bridge a little to lower the action.

Hi Tommy,
I assume counterclockwise is loosening correct? Or would it be clockwise looking from the bridge down the neck? ... Also to adjust the bridge do I just turn the two bolts with a flat head screwdriver?

Well I answered my own question. Need to turn the truss rod counterclockwise to loosen the neck. ( of course I could have checked the FAQ first off lol ). Then I just took a screwdriver and turned the bridge screws counterclockwise too lower. All is well and the guitar seems perfectly setup. Ahh and I didnt have to pay somebody $50 : )

Everyones taste is different, but I've found that if you fret the 1st and 22nd fret, and check the distance between the 8th fret and the string, if there is .010" of distance there, the neck relief is right. You can check that distance using feeler gauges that you can buy at any automotive store. Action should be around 2/32" on the high E, and 5/64" at the low E on the 12th fret.

Like I said, these measurements may not be right for you individually, but if you start there, you shouldn't be far off from a great setup.

Oh, don't forget to set your intonation after you make these adjustments.
