AINSLEY,

I listen to web clips of music all the time, most of it is good. Every once in a while, one will stick out. It may not be any "better" than the others, but there's something about it that captures me. Your playing does that, I like the style and tone.

Yesterday's Heart stands out. What equipment did you use on it?

Hi Al,
Cheers for those kind words :D

Yesterday's Heart is my favourite too, I like the mix as it was only the second tune I'd recorded.

I record everything through a Digidesign Mbox into my 550 MHZ Powerbook, no other outboard gear.
I used my PRS Custom 22 for all guitar parts both clean and dirty but on the main melody I doubled them up to make it fatter. I was gonna harmonise it but I couldn't work it out :( The bass parts were my Squire P bass into a POD 2 on a clean amp. OOPS ... forgot to say the guitar goes through my POD 2 as well. The drums are a BOSS DR770 and I just use the patterns within it as I'm not clever enough to sit and write my own. The keyboard parts are an old Roland GR 30 guitar synth I picked up on eBay, and it's triggered via my Fender telecaster.

It's not a bad little set up and gets good enough results for what I need.

Hey, how come your area look nice and neat and my area looks like a tornado came through?

What amp settings did you use for the leads? It sounds like different settings for the lead in the beginning vs. the ending.

Well first of all Al, I tidied up for the pic if you saw it now it would look like a tornado passed through ;)

As for the amp settings I think the POD 2 was set the same for both but I'm not sure  but it sounds fatter at the beginning as I double the track (played it twice).
I can't get the sound I want out of the POD, I like a smooth lead sound with tons of sustain but I just can't nail it :( .
