for the heads up on the Roland MicroCube...

We had a camping trip planned this past weekend and when I saw the forecast I figured it would be a good time to bring along one of axes and get in some decent practice time.

I could have brought along the PodXT, but after seing and hearing the MicroCube in SLO the battery option sold it. I picked one up and had a blast playing with it although the rain was much worse than we expected and we received a rather sudden wakeup call at 8:30 Saturday morning. That small babbling brook we were camped next to became a raging river overnight and we had to clear out - fast!

Anyhow, thanks for bringing those Microcubes along for the OH weekend, had I not seen them in person I probably wouldn't have given them a second thought. They are extremely versatile little amps.

i got one 2...& i love it for warming up in the dressing rooms. (oh....thats right....i never warm up these days......

the roland cube 60 is strong enough to gig with.....
the reverb is stunning !!!!
they are cheap & reliable......
while they don't sound as good as my 4000.00 main amp........i could gig w/ it !!!!!!
a GREAT backup amp.
awesome product !!!!!

Yah I was impressed with that I heard and I was eyeing them in GC last week. Are those 10 watts?

Sounds like a good little present from the wife and kids for Christmas.

I think they're rated at 2 watts, but you'd never know it. I was really surprised by how it sounds.

6 amp emulations, decent effects, CD in and headphones out, 6 AA's and away you go. They say you can get 20 hours out of the batteries, but I've heard of people getting much more out of them. Much lighter (about 7lbs) than the Pignose which is the next closest thing as far as a portable practice amp.

Now I just have to keep my step-son from taking it all the time.

Best $125 I've spent in a long time.

:cool: I think he's dicking with me... ;) Alright so it won't replace any real amp, but it's a cool little practice amp, none the less...

Just think Tim, next time you climb up on a roof you can take the amp with you...

The cube 30 comes pretty close to being strong enough to gig with. Depending on your drummer of course. :D
 
I just got a Micro Cube on Sunday. Amazing little amp! At first I was disapointed with the R-Fier tone, but then I realized it's a 2w battery powered practice amp... not a halfstack. You can get a great VH tone with the Classic mode, phaser, and delay. An amp this small shouldn't sound this good. And it's a cute little bugger to boot. Go buy one.

The Vox Brian May is also a micro practice amp... But it's more expensive and much less versatile than the MC - oh, and it doesn't run on batteries :)
 
After hanging with Keith and Koogs on Thursday night I have now bought a MicorCube, Best £79 spent on an amp - very versatile and great tone for the buck.

Man....that was a cool night. Remember that dude that stopped by that was the classical guitarist. Man, he was awesome....too bad he had to go. I loved watching him play.....great way to start the night..... :cool:
 
Hey Fred,

Just back from Chi-town today...

Seems like a few folks went for the portable light weight tone of the micro.

I love 'em for camping too. Fantastic travel amps.

And listening to everyone play through them in the hotel room over the open house weekend, (and that guy Koogie mentioned the day before) was the most fun I've ever had with them. Really glad I brought them.

Have fun with it.
