Ok, I just tried out Harrys a bit through my fliptop and I have to say right here and now (for me) the best tone is everything set flat and all four coils fired up (center position on 5-way).

Tons of other tones available on these but I could go with no 5-way and just a volume knob!!

I never flip the switch on my SR5. I'm guessing I'll be more tempted when I finally get one of these, but I definitely see your point.
