Introducing myself-- QuietSpike from Washington, D.C.

Just bought what I believe to be one of, if not THE, last JP12's with the bali-blue quilted maple top that are brand new (and not defective). Would love to know if EBMM is continuing production of this guitar and color or if it is done.

My first EBMM…

Been playing for over 20 years. Have had a strat (1997 or 98 deluxe start plus), Les Paul (1990 Studio with ebony fret board), and some others. My main axe right now is a Jem 7v which I love to play, but honestly hate to look at! ;) My first foray into MM will be this JP12, and I am very excited about it… So excited I want to shout it from on top of a mountain... but I don't have a mountain, I have this forum. :)

Also, I am a hard-core Boogie fan boy. Had a roadster head (awesome), and currently have a Mark V. I like hard rock to heavy, and use a lot of effects… so much that my nickname in one band was "NASA".

I usually detest forums because you can never judge "tone of voice" with someone's post, which sometimes makes them hard to decipher (joke or serious). I am a pretty laid-back kat, so don't take me too seriously.

Hey Spike - congrats and welcome! There's a saying around here....no pics = the geetar doesn't exist! ;)

Ugh. I was looking everywhere for that thing. Where did .you manage to find it?
Guitar Center Platinum showed there was nothing left.

Bull,

Yeah, it was tough. Played a BFR a few weeks ago and fell in love, so started the research about which JP was right for me.... And found the JP12 fit my preferences (flat neck, mahogany, ebony board), yet I was not a huge fan of the two reds that it comes in.... Then I stumble on the Bali quilt.... which reminds me of the custom carvin guitar I ordered back in 2007 (and sent back to carvin in 2007 for a full refund... Long story). So I'm like cool, this will be easy now.... Nope. Only one I found was in guitar center rochester- and it was more of a flame than a quilt- but I still said I wanted it. To GC's credit, they alerted me to the fact that the high E and low E were 1/32" off around the 18th fret. They sent pictures, and no way could I live with that. So I passed on it, but their honesty was much appreciated.

So I'm pissed/hosed right? I google jp12 quilt and find all kinds of canned places claiming to have one, only to click the link and it say "item no longer available." Then I come across an old listing with no pictures from GC in Danbury, CT... so I call them. Yep, old listing and no longer there. Salesman asks "what exactly are you looking for?" So I tell him, and he goes..."I got one on the wall, I'm looking right at it." They sent me pics, and then I sent them money. For whatever reason, it wasn't listed on the website.

The one in rochester is still listed.

Mine ships Monday and I pray there are no issues.... But if there are, I will "Call customer service first before posting anything on here!" ;)

Welcome and enjoy. Bali blue is my absolute favorite finish!!!!

Enjoy

Thanks brosef! Pics coming... The finish is cool as it looks like the sun peeking through clouds...which is why I named it "Heaven's Gate." Lame, but I name all of my guitars.... And no, I did not name my Jem 'Evo'.

It's all good. I have a luke III in bali burst. Gorgeous and great to play!!!

In my opinion it's the prettiest finish they've ever offered. As soon as it was announced I jumped on mine, no questions asked.

Never really liked Bali Blue (maybe due to improper shots?) but this one looks really amazing!
