hi my name is jubjub
and i have a seriouse pick abuse problem
but after a year of hard usage i have kicked the habbit
and after a month off the pick
i feel great

You know, i as well hate the concept of playing with a pick, and oftenly want to kick those MTV2-the strokes/hives/whatever starts with a "the" and ends with a plural-boring root chord-pick playing bass players... but that's just the pick player sterotype (that, and pick players in speed-metal bands), and i came to find out- that in some places it actually does fit...

But still- i never played with a pick and never will (but only because it's not my type of sound)
Congrats and good luck with the rehab

The pick is not Evil

I use a pick in 80% of the songs w/the band I'm in now - it cuts & bites and sounds great w/the style of music. 8-10 years ago I slapped all the time but that was that bands style. When I slap now, I sometimes get the feeling I'm laying down the soundtrack to some old porn video. Times/style/tastes change, what's important is the Stingray endures . . .

yeah
but
i have never played with my fingers and am trying to be a well balanced seriouse bassist now
