Hi All,

I'm on house arrest waiting for the HH Sterling. This is the first time I've taken shipment of a musical instrument instead of taking it home from a store. So, for all of you who have done this many many times, what do you do first?

Fine-tune the setup, which may have been affected in shipping?

If you do you look at the setup, what is the most common adjustment that you had to make?

Or, do you just plug it in and fire it up? Play it loud and annoy the neighbors who should be at work anyway?

I am waiting for a Sterling to arrive too. I have no idea when it will come because the sender used the postal service and the tracking number info hasn't been updated since 3/27 when it was dropped off. Soon I hope.

As Moondog said, please post some HH photos!

Here!!

She's HERE!! :D

First impression...WOW. It rings louder and more clearly unplugged than any other bass I've ever owned. Neck plays like a dream.

So, I took the advice of the forum and plugged it in to my GK first thing. I need a second cab to really knock stuff off my neighbors' shelves, but I had to give it a shot anyway.

Soloing the bridge pickup produces the same tone to my ears that the single pickup Sterlings I've played produce. In and of itself, a fantastic growly tone.

That said, the other 4 options = huge tonal variety!! The middle position so far is my favorite, as it really has the best of both pickups. Good bite from the bridge pickup, and excellent thump from the neck pickup.

So, anyway, I'm out to spend several hours playing. I will try to borrow a digital camera as soon as I can, so I can add pics to the pic thread!

im on "work arrest". i have my stuff shipped to work so I dont have to worry about someone being there to sign and I get to save a sick day ...

UPS scared the hell out of me tho. I checked the tracking info when I woke up and it said it was delivered, i got to work and there was no bass! i assumed someone was messing with me so i searched all over and still no bass! then i checked UPS.com again and the status now said "out for delivery" instead of "Delivered".

i was worried for a lil while

So it's HH, but what color, pickguard, fretboard, headstock??? We neeeed info, man!

Blue Pearl, White PG, Maple board, non-matching headstock.

I pseudo hi-jacked a couple of Arin's threads cause we both had HH Sterlings come in at the same time.

Oh man...this would have scared the crap outta me too! Good thing they got it updated quick. Although you already got an HH in a SR4, I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the HH Sterling.

Rob,

Give the bass a few days to adjust to yoru local humdity. Remember, it came from the desert.

I won't touch the setup for a few days. I'll just be playing the heck out of it anyway.
