How Long?

How long till my Axis fretboard begins to darken? I play for about a hour to two hours a day for about a month and ive got nothing. To me nothing looks better than a nice stained fretboard. Shows that you play that beautiful peace of equipment rather than making it a show piece that sits in its case. end rant

I'd guess it depends on how dirty / oily your hands are when you play.

Play while eating KFC, it will get dirty in a hurry - Just ask my brother

Mine took a couple of years to get like that.

You could always rub coffee granules in to it

i always look at jp's fingerboards

sometimes they even look sort of wet/shiny
and the necks look shiny sometimes

i know its because he plays the HELL out of them

My neck on my 1997 sterling (yea..bass..) Has a very nice dark glow to it. Im guessing you dont want to wait 8-9 years though, but sometimes time is the only answer.
