How many springs in your Axis

how many springs you guys have in your axis im looking to give it more of a easy dive i still have all the springs that come stock in it from ernie ball should i take a one or two out to give it more of a easy dive?

i only have 2 springs on my EVH, with 9s, it makes for some easy diving.

now would i take a spring out with all strings off or what also what if im using 10s

I think I tried 2 springs withs 10's, and from memory it didn't workout. I currently use 3 and it's fine.

If you take out 2 springs out of an Axis, you will have no springs: 2-2=0

If you take out 2 springs out of a SSPT, you will have 1 spring: 3-2=1

Not something you would want in either situation. If you have an Axis, try making the springs look like this | | instead of this / \ It might make it feal a bit easier.

Jon, does that apply to all MM or just the Axis? My Morse feels more stiffer than my EVH and it's setup the sameway.

It should work on all of 'em....Any guitar.

Those extras are replacements. If you had 4 springs in there you would need a jackhammer to dive bomb

Jon, I take it by adding all 4 springs, you would effectively 'hard tail' your Floyd? Just interested as no doubt one day I will buy a floyd equipped Axis, and wished it was a hard tail!

no doubt one day I will buy a floyd equipped Axis, and wished it was a hard tail!

If you change string gauges etc. you will more than likely need to adjust the trem claw even if you don't add/remove springs.
