Question How much were the first Stingray basses selling for in the 70s?

The reason I ask, is that there is a question being posed as to which production bass was the first to break to $1000 MSRP mark.

Just checked one of those online inflation calculators: $595 in 1976 → $2,682.95 in 2019. That's a bit above a Stingray 4 Classic current street price. So much for people complaining how overpriced some guitars are now.
