How much would it cost to order a customized guitar directly from EBMM?

They don't do custom orders unless your an artist.

Also tacking on its not for lack of desire from the EBMM team to do it - there is just so much demand, staffing is tough, and they're quality-over-quantity in production approach!

I've tried 2 or 3 times myself. As stated above, it's just not an option right now.

There has been talk of some sort of custom type thing, but it's only rumored.

My guess is some sort of website where the customer can pick and choose from options (maple or rosewood, pickup config, finish, etc). The big thing for me would be applying any color from the EBMM line to any guitar. That would be huge I think as so many colors are restricted to various models, which I totally understand for logistic reasons.

That'd be genuinely amazing.

So basically what Keisel Guitars does. But in their case, that's their whole model. Every instrument is semi-custom, but they've spent years setting up their production line to accommodate that model.

Right I was going to say that, just didn't want to dis anyone by dropping that here. I messed with it when it first came out, not bad, similar to how things could be configured originally with EBMM, maybe not as deep though.

I can't see EBMM having a custom shop of that level of detailed customization. That would be awesome for sure.

Given how backlogged they are, no doubt it's a pipe dream. I was just stating how awesome it'd be if that were the case. That would definitely open a whole new set of logistic nightmares for them.

I can dream though! 😅

Oh how I wish they offered a custom shop option at EBMM. It's too bad they don't. I'd be in trouble though...or rather my bank account would be.
