how old & how much can this sabre be worth?

have an opportunity to buy this sabre at about US$700. is it a good deal?

i don't have it's serial no. yet, probably the owner would not want to dismantle the neck to check for it too.

Judging by the headstock logo, and by reference to Gav's database, I'd say it's in the 1988-1991 range. $700 looks a bit much for what looks like a somewhat beaten up example.

haven't tested it yet...anyway the owner advertised it as a bass from the 70s, when i clarified that it should be 80s he said it was sold already!
