Hello I just posted about a Axis I just recieved and was wandering is there a way to Identify whether or not the pups are og ebmm axis pups?

Mine have a satin black bobbin- Black base- and the neck has a small round patend sticker with number and a N 2 (embossed) marking on the base.

The Bridge has same as above..no sticker and I believe it is a E 1 marking on it.

Thanks in advance!!

that is the real deal then! the bridge actually should say B1:D
the sticker is the patent for "air buckers" which the neck pup is!;)
dimarzio does make double black custom wounds(not all are zebra) for the sport, as shown

Unreal!

Cool...thanks for the info. Voltage.. i am relieved

I do notice(especially the Bridge) the pups seem to pretty hot and I am cliping the input signal to my podxt pro where as my guitars including my Axis sport are'nt. Is this a normal atribiute to these pups? I would like to lower the b-pup a tad but of coarse cant.:(

I will be getting some Tube amps soon..maybe the pups will drive a tube amp in a good way? plus I can always use the Vol.

Take it easy,

what you can do is take a measurment of the new bridge pup as it sits in the axis.
the old original EVH ebmm axe had the bridge pup set to 5/32' low E and 4/32' high E.
if this is not the same on your new axis, and is a good bit closer to the strings, you can have it routed for a deeper recess,to ower the bridge pup more?
the dimarzio custom wound bridge pups are hot,a little less than a tone zone but not by much
