how to set-up the neck on an Axis?

Hello,

I have a Van Halen Music Man (Axis model now!).

Can someone explain me which way to turn the wheel at the bottom of the neck near the neck pick-up to set-up the neck?

I am not sure which way to turn and I don't want to screw up this beautiful guitar.

Are you supposed to use some force to do this or should it be possible to do it easily?

Got it? Good. The knob works in the same direction as a screw..."rightie-tightie" (clockwise), "leftie-loosie" (counter-clockwise), and you really should turn it in 1/4 turn increments. If the twist starts to tighten, STOP. You'll snap the rod in half, and the neck will be worthless at that point.

* In playing position, assuming that your guitar is right handed, left is going towards you/the top of the guitar, right is going towards the bottom of the guitar/volume and toggle controls.

But don't take just my advice on this; there's a great post earlier in the forum about neck and truss rod adjustment. Awesome information about just what you're aiming to do (minus the force part! ) If you go through those steps, you should be golden!
