Do the new 2H stingrays sound like the old 1H stingrays if you solo the bridge pickup, or are they entirely diferent animals. To rephrase the question, my gas for the past year has been for the sound and feel of a 5 string Ray. Would I get that with a 2H and then some, or will I say, "Damn! still need to get a good ol fashioned Stingray," if I want that sound. Thanks.

Also: Update on my gig at NAMM. Friday (not Saturday) on the main stage @ the Marriott, 8:15, Alexa Vetere is the artist I'm backing.

From what I've seen and read, the single-H p/up is further in from the bridge; kind of a 'sweet spot' for some.

I thought on the dual pickup SR4, SR5 and Sterling that the bridge pickup is in the same spot as on the single pickups. If that's true, than switching to just the bridge pickup will give you the same sound as a single pickup bass.

On the Bongo, I believe the Single H has the pickup in a different spot compared to the HH or HS.

I think we need the official word on this (once again)...

I think he might mean on the single pup SR and the dual pup SR the bridge pup is in the same place..

I was under the impression that the single pup bongo pup was advanced a little forward, too.

I must have been thinking of the Bongo pickup placement, as well.

With the two pickup bongo models the bridge pickup is moved closer to the bridge. the Single H's are in the traditional musicman sweetspot.

That's what I want to know too. Are the EQ frequency ranges the same, or are they tweaked because of the feedback problem I vaguely remembered reading about in early attempts at a dual H stingray.
