i need, help new york area bass players

ok heres the deal, i just moved from florida to new york. i dont have my cab or head with me and there is a band interested in me but i have to try out. so if any one in the new york area knows of any one i could rent/borrow a cab/head or a decent combo to try out with it would be greatly appreciated. send me a pm if you can help this would only be until i can get my 810 shipped up here and damn thats expensive.

im currently in smith town long island. i havent set up the date of the try out. they wanted me to try out last monday but i had work and no cab or head.

just my experience but i find it odd that they need you to bring a full rig to an audition. if it's anywhere near the city, there are any number of hourly rehearsal rooms with full gear.

the other scenario is that i'm using the outgoing bassist's gear in the band's rehearsal space.

are they having every auditioning bassist haul a full rig in and out? perhaps it's a start-up project?

well they already have the songs done and they have already recorded the cd just they dont have a bass player so it is kind of a start up thing. they are having the auditions in dix hill on long island at there home, they have a space there that they built. if you know any place's i could rent from off hand let me know.

Behringer has a 300 watt, 1X15 amp you can order from Americanmusical.com for like 3 payments of $83. Those amps are loud, sound good, and do the job. They also ship out of Long Island. Most things I've ordered I've gotten the next day. I'd advise you to buy one of those, keep it for as long as you need it, and then sell it when you get your amp back. Or keep it if ya like it. In the long run you'll save bigtime on hassles, and money.
