so who's in the mood for a sad sad story ?

so I moved to Vancouver bc during last summer , got into this Ska Regea like band .. I had my music man sterling serial# F09455... a real transgold beauty , I swear I was cleaning and wiping it more than I would wash myself ...

I went back to Montreal Qc for Xmass with the family ... and left it at my drummers place ... cause he was a good bud , you know when you're in a band it becomes family , you ****ing trust those guys ... anyway

Got back to North Delta ( at my drummer's place then ) after the holidays ... he says ;
" Well we too it to my mom's cause we were on vaccation out of town "
fine .. then an other day he says, when we were in his mom's area
" My mom left it at my uncle's place , cause she left out of town too "

when we where in his uncle area , the uncle never picked up ....
when he did , his car got repo.
when I was leaving back home , cause I was fed up of west coast .. his uncle couldn't make it in time , he had an appointement ... and it was that or missin' my flight ... so Rob ( drummer ) said he'd ship it

he did , so he says , but it got sent back cause he ****ed up in the adresse
so I gave him again my adress

then he said "well we hold on to it cause we were reccording the demo so Mat ( guitar ) played it, but I'll ship it as soon as the demo get's press "

then no answer when I long distance call him !
One day his GF called me back , saying SHE would ship it the next day cause he was in Vegas

he called me back 3 days later , no tracking number , saying he 'd get back to me on it

and ... that's 3 weeks ago ... since no pick up when I call , no call back when I ask to ... no nothing , and especially NO ****IN' BASS I WORKED MY ASS TO GET ...

and I have a lil feelin' my dad's insurance WON'T cover that ....
I have a lil feelin' that police won't give a ****ing damn
I have a lil feelin' that I'm an IDIOT

if anyone see a trans gold Sterling with a white Pickguard and rosewood frett board on the west coast , and the serial is F09455 ... please tell me and give it back .. It's either in the mail and lost ( HOPE SO ) or in a pawn shop's window display ...on the west coast !

Sucks cause I thought he was my bros.. I lived with him , played with him, he was one of the few ppl I really enjoyed being with there ....

I feel so stupid , yeah I have other basses .. but ... IT WAS MY MUSICMAN DAMN IT ..

anyway

if anyone can help find it , or tips on what to do ... whatever .. please !

thanks

I'll keep my eye on ebay and a few shops like Bass Northwest to see if anything comes up. I really am sorry about your loss. I don't know what i'd do without my SR5. Probably raise some hell is what i'd do. Best of luck and I really hope you get your beloved back! :)

Get law enforcement involved.

NOW.

Do not hesitate. Maybe call your drummer "friend" first and give him a shot at coming up with it, but get the police involved.

Jack

Dude that sucks.... major runaround..

I agree with jack - contact the police - at least that way it is listed and if it appears on ebay or whatever then you have record of it reported stolen.

Failing that personal visits never go astray...

A few years back I got my Cutlass and my SR5 stolen when our house was robbed. If you don't report your bass as stolen to the police and get an occurrence #, you will have no recourse if it shows up in a pawn shop or anywhere else for that matter. I also had a non MM bass stolen that showed up in a used instrument shop, and when I recognized it and reported it, the police seized it right away. The system (to some extent) does work for us.

p.s. I now have to German Shepherd Dogs to protect the house, and more importantly my new SR5. They love bottom end!

The above advice is all very sound. Unfortunately, this is one of the cruel ways that teach us about life. I really hope you get your bass back man!

Plus loads, get the cops on it.

****... I know the feeling. Had something real "precious" to me stolen few
years back... Although I can't prove it, I know it has something to do with
"friends"....

Like the other guy says, DO report it to the police without delay!
I'll keep an eye opened, from my end of the Country.

Bonne chance

Dude, I feel for ya. Do exactly what others have said, get a police report. That gives you recourse with Pawn Shops and other avenues that might try to sell the bass.....it is receiving stolen goods and that could be jail time.

Sorry to hear about that.....I hate a thief.

I really hate the behaviour of that drummer! As others have said, report it.

I have known a few people who behaved much like your drummer "friend" and I think one major problem is that their world isn't the same as ours. They don't understand they've done anything wrong...
Sad

Good luck on getting your bass back. No shame in trusting a friend even if they turn out not to be a friend. Serial number noted here.

Rule #1 in life: Don't trust ANYONE. i have had people who i thought were my friends steal or dissapear after borrowing some money. not much, but enough to cause concern to a then 17 year old Ras.

You my friend, have just learned that lesson. you can't trust anyone with anything that belongs to you, let alone something as expensive as an EBMM bass. i know its a cynical view on life, but i have been forced into this view by some very dubious people.
