Ibanez lawsuit Series (?)

I have a 1975 Ibanez guitar that looks just like the Gibson SG with the exception of a bigsby style trem system. It even has the logo that Gibson uses on the headstock, and the "Ibanez" is written in a different font from what they normally use. A friend told me that these guitars are part of the "lawsuit series" but not too much info apart frm that. Does anyone have any info on these "lawsuit guitars"? Thanks!
