I'm tired of the "sparkle rocks" threads and the BS about "custom" EB basses, but we need a freaking Forum Generated Limited Edition Bass, available only to those of us who are forum members and who will fork over the cash and THEN we're talking limited edition!

I've seen it happen on other manufacturer's forums...and I shall not name them....

I don't know, I'm about half lit and just back from a long two week's work, defending our freedom and all that crap, but I would personally love to see a bass available only to we forum rats.

Am I drunk?

Even though I'm a newb over here, I think that's a mighty fine idea. Depending on what it is, I could be convinced to part with one of my babies to finance one.

Welcome back, Jack, BTW. I bought a bongo while you were gone. :)

How about a custom color (put it to a vote) two pickup stingray. Five knob: volume, blend, treble, mid, bass. Classic!

Keep dreaming. Go buy a bongo. :D I would love to see a Forum LE bass. A few of my color suggestions...

1. Shoreline gold
2. Inca Silver
3. Canary Yellow
4. Pearl Purple
5.Logan Green
6.Sky Blue

I also think it would be sweet to have little details like racing stripes.

I think it would be a fair gift of our undying support to EBMM to have Limited Editions that only we could get our hands on. I mean most of us check in here at least once (or ten times) daily dont we? And we defend the "toilet seat" Bongo comments, and "one trick pony" StingRay comments at "other" forums. I mean I am an EBMM fanatic. There isnt a bass on the market that I like as much or more than my Bongo 5. Ive had my hands on many different brands.

So my question is:

Dont we deserve something special? Will we get it? My guess is no. :(

It's funny--I had the exact same idea while you were in Washington. I was planning on emailing you when you got back. I see that you are back. :D

I think it's important to remember that if this even happened, it would be limited to color only. I think it's safe to say that requests of "coil taps, maple fretboard Bongos/Ash Bongos" will fall on deaf ears.

I'd definitely be interested in a Ltd Ed single H Bongo something-something....

One color that I have an interest in would be a very deep purple.Almost black, like the mountain dew special edition.Midnight I think it was called.

I know what you're talking about there, not a bad idea. What if it had a very slight metallic sparkle (small specs) like my copperhead bronze?

The limited edition color is a great idea, I just wonder how hard it would be to get everyone to agree?

Thats a great Idea I would definately go for that
Its like when certain bands release songs only to people that are members of their websites or before that mailing lists etc.

But also it has to be available to worldwide members not just the U.S. - maybe make part of the proceeds go to the casey lee ball foundation and or some other charity

I dip my hat to you Jack!! :D

Welcome home our lord Bongo!

Fantastic idea!!!...I am all for a forum LE color. I am still trying to figure out what color to get for my fretless Bongo. The Stealth is tempting, but I may wait to see what the EBMM folks agree on for the forum color.

You ever faithful fellow bassplayer.

Count me in!! I'd like to see a poll for colors, design, etc... and maybe the words 'forum bass' or 'www.ernieball.com/forums' featured somewhere on the bass.
Could it be available over the web or would we still need to buy it through a store? Maybe a certain forum member could arrange good deals for us ;) ?

I'd love to see Inca Silver or Seafoam Green without a pickguard. I'd take a Bongo, Stingray or Sterling like that...

The more I think about it, the more appealing a string-through inca silver 'Ray sounds. I'd sell a kidney for that!
