Hello Everyone,

My Name is Aaron and I am a Newbie to this sight, but i am by no means a newbie to being an EBMM Fan! I have been playing for bass for over 10 years now and i play and will only play EBMM's. Over the years i have been trying to convert fellow non-believers with much success but in my opinion these basses sell themselves! I currently have 9 EBMM basses in my collection and hope to reach 12 by the end of the year if my finances will dictate such! I am sure that you all have figured out that i am still single..lol but hey who needs anything more that a Ernie Ball Bass Anyways!

I just wanted to let you guys know how cool i think this forum is and that you guys are doing a great job. Keep up the good work! :)

I have a question for Big Papa though, I was wondering if there has ever been a thought of adding the Bongo preamp along with the coil selector switch to the new stingray hh or hs basses. I think if this was an option those basses would be out of this world in terms of tonal options. It has been on my mind for weeks and i just had to ask!

Welcome to the forum! I'm not going to try to speak for BP, but here is my take: The Stringray isn't just a body shape. It's the pre, the pickup(s),the neck shape(among other things) that make it what it is and make it great. If you take any of that away,IMO, it's no longer a StingRay. The same goes for all the other great instruments EBMM makes. They all have features that make them special and set themselves apart from everything else out there. Now, I don't know what came first, the Bongo pre or the Bongo shape, but I'm glad that EBMM went the extra mile to design something all together unique. I guess what I'm trying to say is: Every time I pick up my Bongo(s) I'm so thankful that BP, Dudley, and the good folks at EBMM took the time to get it right. :D

Hi Aaron
Welcome
Where are the pictures of your basses?
Why put the Bongo preamp into anything but the Bongo? Just get yourself a Bongo or Two:D
or three, or four or 5 or 9 or 23 or 211, or 643 ....... nah, 643 is reeeaallllyy a few too many.

Anyway, welcome.

thanks for the support!

The Bongo's electronics will always be in a Bongo only.

I hate mini toggle coil switches and am really pleased with the switching of the new 2 PU models. have you tried them yet?

thanks again.....bp

Thanks Big Papa,

I appreciate you posting back and letting me know. I had to share the thought so i could get some closure on the subject..:)

I have not tried the new 2 PU models yet but i have two ordered. I have a SR4 HH and a SR5 HH ordered. I can't wait to check them out. I should have the SR4 by the end of the week and hopefully the SR5 within 3-4 weeks. After hearing some of the comments that you guys have made about them i expect nothing but perfection just like i have seen and heard on every other EBMM product!

Thanks for putting quality first guys!

Thanks everyone for your posts! I will be posting some pics soon of my starter collection..lol..

Andrew, as far as i know I am not related to Musicman Nut but it sounds like he is a guy that shares the same vision and aspirations as me! so kudos to him!

I will try to post some pics by the end of the week if it all possible. I don't want to entertain the thought of a picture deprived mob of angry Bongoloids and Stingrayans after me from the EBMM forum!

No, and I'm very jealous of those that have! GC in Manchester, CT is not stocking them fast enough.

Yeah TK, I can't seem to find a good woman that will agree to sign a prenup that i can always keep my collection for better or worse!

I guess i just need to find one that can't live without them either. Chances are 1 in a million finding a gal like that though...but hey that is still a chance!...lol

Wow! Nine EBMM basses is quite impressive.I currently have three and am trying to split playing time between them equally. You are a lucky man...........

Yeah Randracula with a big collection you definately have to learn how to manage your time properly or one can be left out of the mix and get jealous!

The right girl usually finds you. Guys as a rule tend to be looking at the wrong ones all the time.
