Is this really a custom job (more ebay, nice fretless)

What makes this custom? Serious question, I'm not anywhere near Gav on EBMM bass knowledge. S/N is E30432.

Nothing makes that a custom instrument. This tool probably just ordered it to his specs, and thinks that makes it "custom."

He adds a Hipshot D-Tuner and thinks his bass is worth $500 more than list? Tool. For someone with a custom instrument, it's fairly convenient that he only had to cut/paste the standard description of a Stingray 5 from the Musicman website.

What a tool.

With a Buy It Now price of US $2,350.00, I can't understand why someone hasn't snapped this right up!

(The idea of hipshots on a fiver really makes me scratch my head.)

So, he's a "former EBMM endorsee" who plays in coffee houses. Methinks he carries a bottle of claret in a brown paper bag with him at all times.

That's what I thought when I read the "coffee house" thing.

He must be an unbelievable player who's able to get EBMM heaps of publicity by playing in your local Starbucks!

as far as the custom thing: I think EBMM custom instruments (Jack's flaming bass etc) say custom on the neck plate thing right? The pics suck but it doesnt look like this one says custom.

anywho ... we could all order that exact bass right now so the custom thing is BS and is the BIN higher than retail?

AFAIK, Jack's bass is the ONLY one that has a neck plate that says custom. That was more of a joke between him and Sterling than anything else.

"Custom Shop models are for companies that can't build a good production instrument."

I think that or something like it was the gist of the joke.

Well not always true to the point. I have many factory custom Music Man Basses and not one says custom on any neck Plate. A custom bass is anything not offered as an option by the Manufacture Making the instrument. But these clowns that think because they personaly ordered the instrument that it should be worth 3 times as much is smoking Crack Period. It gets old folks. Music Man 5's sell all day for a grand in mint shape here in No. Cali, so go figure. DJ

My white Bongo says "custom made" on the neckplate......didn't cost me more than any other Bongo.
