My new SC/H tort guard showed up for the white whale.

It's been raining all day, so no natural light pictures, and I apparently live in a cave.

This is the best I can do for the night:

I'm a happy boy, and luckily my GAS level for a Butterscotch Bongo just went way down. I am anxiously awaiting the next Ltd Ed color, though...

Yeah, buying pickguards worked for a while for me, too. I ordered this one last week to kill GAS for the Butterscotch, but then I went and bought a PBass....

Night and day, really. This CS weighs about 8 lbs, had a higher output than an 18V dual humbucker $7000 Ritter, and plays like it's been loved for 40 years. The American Standards are nice, and while the QC is a heckuva lot better than it used to be, you still need to find the right one.

Plus, if I drop the screwdriver when I am changing strings, I can still sleep at night.

I think the abalone looks good too. But the tort gives it more of a vintage (probably shouldn't use that word with a Bongo) vibe.

I'm so happy with the look that I think I am done shopping for pickguards for Moby.

But, I think the tort is it. I like the blend of vintage with modern. Plus, the colors just look so nice together.


ebmuscmanlvr83--Yep, that's the same PBass. It plays even better now after lowering the action and putting on flats. Easily the lightest PBass I've ever owned.

And, nismaniac--it doesn't quite cure the GAS for the Buttercream, but it does help alleviate it enough that I don't do anything stupid before the buying window closes.


Now, I just need to decide on a new pickguard for the Black Sapphire Bongo....the work is never done....
