Jack Questions

I have a SUB4 I got a couple of weeks ago. It sounds awesome and plays great, but the jack is a bit flakey. When I first got the bass I opened it to check on a ground buzz issue (which in the end was my house wiring - i gotta leave well enough alone ). Since I did that the jack has been a bit flakey.

Usually its 100%, but sometimes I'll need to juggle the cable a bit, and sometimes it'll start buzzing like a madman.

I've looked up threads about this and on the 3-bands you can pull out the jack and bend the contacts, but mine has an enclosed jack directly soldered to the PCB.

Are there any simple solutions? i.e. no soldering or jack swap?

If i do need to switch, is the jack a switchcraft? If so, can I get the model #?

Also, just out of curiosity, why is the switching arrangementand special 4-terminal jack used instead of just the usual stereo jack battery ground switch trick thing?

Ok too much text. Just looking for easiest way to fix it mainly.

I highly suspect your guitar lead plug. Try another lead.

I doubt that there's anything wrong with the jack on your Bass.

I would change out the cable first. Sometimes these things just give up the ghost and will buzz occasionally. If you did that and still have it, try calling Customer Service.

Definitely not the cable... and definitely my fault unfortunately!

Will call customer service... I would have done that earlier just I got it used so I figured I'd be on my own as far as they're concerned.
