This is the most exciting thing to hit Iowa in a long time. Absolutely the top Christian bands and artists in the world including:

:D Audio Adrenaline
:D Rebecca St. James
:D Skillet
:D The Katinas
:D Watermark
:D Ron Kenoly
:D Our Hearts Hero
:D Coram Deo
:D Bliss
:D Mindy Sawyer (She's not famous yet but maybe some day..... I'm playing bass for her)

I hope it goes well...Iowa needs some good Christian Events.

amy grant is a corporate whore! who else would sell their music to walgreens...

down with amygrant!

anyone else absolutely loooove the music at walgreens drug store.

i work the overnights there..

it's obnoxious once in a while, we hear some david bowie, or pink floyd, or even ozzy and metallica, but mostly it's phil collins and a plethora of generic female toilets.

last night i heard three versions of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" in a row... admitedly, one of them was bobby mcfarrin and was funny, but still...IN A ROW!!

they did play a song with some chick warbling over a fretless bass mimicking her melody..or vice versa.

it was cool.

first off... if anyone plays music outside of their bedroom and gets compensated for performing music in any manner of compensation then said person is a coporate w@#$* sell-out regardless of 2 bucks or 2 million, the principle is the same. Lame topic/response.

anywho, Spectorbassguy, are you able to make it up to New Hampshire at the end of July for Soulfest?? I think the site is www.soulfest.com it's gonna be a blast. Hopefully all goes well with your gig.

ps. have you ever heard Misty Edwards?? Check her out, amazing stuff!!!!! I think she's from K.C.

wow..you are a sensitive (wo?)man. It's a shame you can't take a joke...or understand things.

maybe next time i'll use smaller words, would that work?
ok i'll do that.

My old drummers band "Imago Dei" is playing on the extreme tour in the 3 northwest shows. it's a pretty big Christian festival. anyone in the seattle/portland/kennewick (?) area should check it out in august. Looks like mostly smaller known groups, but should still be good.

thanks

spectorbassguy, have u ever heard of the band Pax-217? kinda sound like 311...my cousin a youth minister told me about them...i think their bass player plays a sting ray come to think of it.

Me too. Around here, corporate shows pay 2 or 3 times more than bar or club gigs, and they usually feed and water us real well. Plus, we get to see some nicely dressed up classy pootang, and there are rarely any toothless men smashing beer bottles over each other's heads at corporate gigs. I'll gladly take as much corporate work as they want to give me.

yeah, I had a group that played a few shows for Microsoft for a youth outreach thing..or something, im not quite sure what....my keyboardists dad was a big guy for MS and got us the gig for a whopping 1200 duckets each show. plus we got nice sandwhiches and whatnot.

Oh yeah. I've seen and met Pax 217 a couple of times when Frank's House of Rock in Des Moines Iowa was up and running. They were great guys and yes the bass player did play a StingRay. Great sound and great music. Their bass player is a wild man. Did lots of "stop, drop and roll stunts" with his bass on!

In fact, Here's a pic of him that I took at Frank's at a concert:

Unfortunately that's a little too far away for my schedule. Here's the website:

I am going to Sonshine Festival though. Promises to be cool!

A few months ago I saw Amy Grant in concert along with Mercy me and she was good but I didn't feel any feeling or heart in her music. I think that the crowd sensed it too because that crowd responce was very subdued!

you know that im an active christian but tell me
i would think my christian brothers could come up with a better name for a christian concert than jesusfest
how bout somthin a bit more classy
like christ concert

no
i meant the name jesusfest
it seems liek some jerk heavy metal concert would be called that just to be a bunch of athiest jerks

(no offence to any metalers or athiests)
