Here's a link that was posted on the Peavey forums of the demo that JS did for the JSX head. Not trying to promo products that are non-EBMM; this is solely for the sake of sharing info on a great guitarist, etc.

Just one thing to note: you can crank it, but when someone fields a question, you need to drop the volume, or you're gonna get blasted (audience mic volume is VERY loud and "hissy").

BTW Satch's Live in SF DVD is well worth the price! Amazing player, unbelievable melodies, great song crafter.

I found this old thread and bumped it up cause i just got an Ibanez JS2000 guitar and like Joe himself,its simply AMAZING!!!!!!!!! I even Liked it better then a Vai Jem that i recently played as well!!!!!

That may be true, but remember how that last thread went? Instead, let's do something different with this one and ask and answer the following question: If Joe became an EBMM artist, what would be the right guitar for him currently in production (with proper mods, of course)

My answer: a JP with Joe'c current pickups.

Why?: Basswood body, great floating trem (maybe replace it with a Floyd), awesome high radius neck, wider flatter fingerboard then other EBMMs. Plus, I think a JP would look really sexy in chrome!

And please, let's not discuss Ibanez guitars any further. There is an appropriate place for that, but I don't think it's on this forum. Thanks for your cooperation!

Thanks!!! and no i`m not trying to stir anything up! I only mentioned Ibanez once before in my 100 plus posts....... i`m just stating a fact about a new guitar that i just got,not comparing it to anything else!

What could be the option to up notes in a EBMM tremolo ?

Actually, the JP trem DOES float (goes up AND down), and it's a real treat to play too. I own one and, man, it is smooth as silk.

Congrats on the Satch, AxSport4me... The Satriani is my fave Ibanez guitar now; the neck is really nice on that guitar, and not so very different from some EBMM profiles...

Which brings me to the "which EBMM for Joe?" Q: Joe's IBZ has a more "vintage" neck than is typically associated with Ibanez - 12" radius, pretty deep D - almost V - shape, as I recall - and if asked to pick from the current EBMM production stable, I think he'd probably be most comfortable on a floyd-equipped Morse - in fact, I've seen pictures of him playing one on stage somewhere, tho' I can't for the life of me find them now. Anyway, I'm pretty sure Joe would want a more traditional neck shape than what's found on the JP model... Of course, it'd be great to see Joe leave the Ibanez camp for EBMM, but it would seem somewhat unlikely - I'm sure Ibanez treat him very well as one of their two or three primary endorsers...

re: the JSX - if they ever make a 50 Watt version, I'll consider it, but I sure as heck don't need 100 Watts where I'm playing!

They float--they go up and down. I think the only exceptions are the Axis and trems with piezos. (The piezos don't work if the bridge isn't flat against the body.)
