JP15 - boost question

Hi,

I just got my JP15 teal flame, what a great guitar. That roasted maple neck is so sweat.

I notice when I engage the boost circuit there's a small pop/crack.
Is that normal?

This is my new teal flame. I was a little bit sceptical with no matching headstock but wow it's so great.

Yeah, my caparisons don't get much playtime nowadays and I seriously thinking of selling half of them (have 6 Capas) to afford a Jp15 7 string as well.

How do you guys use the boost?
I haven't figured out if this is going to replace my other way to boost for lead.
I play through an AxeFx III and hitting the JP15-boost the input go way red. I could turn down the instrument input level but then I have to change it every time I change guitar. Maybe I should decrease the db boost to match the levels.

I don't have a JP15, but I do have a Luke III, and there is a bit of a pop when the boost is engaged. Also there can be a "scratchy" sound when the push-push pot is moving up and down.
