JP6 Sharp Fret Ends

Hey Guys,

I got my JP6 Last year in about June and Over the winter I've noticed some sharp fret ends coming up, to the best of my knowledge this is usually caused by neck shrinkage due to humidity change. For reference I'm in Calgary Alberta Canada.

My Question is would this be a warranty issue or should I just drop it off at my local tech to be fixed?
 
It's a humidity issue and it's temporary. With the dry air, the neck shrinks slightly, allowing the frets to protrude.

Best advice is to get a humidifier for the room it's in, or for the case. When the humidity comes back the you won't feel the fret ends any more.
 
Turn on the humidifier to battle the dry. In Minnesota it can be brutally dry in winter. Keep in the case with a case humidifer if its bad
 
My koa JP had the same problem. A couple of months in the case with a humidifier and the problem was fixed. I always use humidifiers on my guitars and just keep them in their cases when not playing. My JP arrived with fret sprout having just been on a UPS truck from SLO to Dubaldo Music, and then to Utah. I'm sure when it left the factory it was great. A couple of weeks on a UPS truck and the fretboard shrunk. Pretty easy fix though.
 
Thanks, gonna go pick up a humidifier and hygrometer tonight. I knew it was a humidity issue but wasn't aware that it was an issue that could be undone rather then fixed with a file so thanks! If I don't see any change in a couple weeks of having the room humidified ill get a case humidifier and go that route.

Any recommendations on case humidifiers?
 
If need be take it to James at guitar repaire shack(I just found this guy). I've had this happen before with our glorious unpredictable climate!

Haha yeah James is the Guy I go to. He's great at what he does. Does all the setups on my more expensive guitars for me :D
