Actually when I saw the thread title, I thought that maybe this was my old bass up for auction. I then would have told everybody to avoid it like the plague because that one had bad mojo. However this one is not and thus highly recomendable.

Avoid this one at all cost though if you see it.

Ever seen a lined fretless EB bass with dots on the board?

Among other things...
*When I bought it, I asked the seller if it was a factory fretless. Me being new to EB at the time didn't know the signs. I was either lied to intentionaly or misled by somebody who definately should have known better than to give a certain answer if he didn't know the truth.

*If you look carefully at the pic, you can see a crack in the finish underneath the bridge, it goes around the bottom to a little bit on the back. The bass was perfect when I bought it at the guitar show, and somehow, while sitting in its case during the twenty minutes it took me to get it home, the finish managed to crack.

*Between the above two issues, my resale value took a serious hit. This was a problem, because I realized a fretless fiver was a no go for me, so I need to sell it to fund the MG fretless.

*After trying for a good while, it ended up selling for about 60% of what I paid for it, just 5 months prior. Not what I expect from an EB or any used bass that I buy for that matter.

*Then the bank lost one of the money orders that was used to pay for it, and because of bank stupidity, it took me over 3 months to finally collect the money completely.

Tis a mighty fine fretless.

It'd be much better with a white or white pearl pg IMHO.

Oh yeah, how's your dad Travis?

Ahh .. this thread looks just dandy . .
I was originally after white pickguard when I bought this one last year but I softened to the dark side. Also you can't buy pickup covers, so black pup with white scratch wouldn't be the same. I just love the colour tho'.

I like that Pearl lavender finish...classy.reminds me of my mate's 50s reissue strat which is called dusky rose or something.i'd have a maple board 4 stringer in this finish or that metallic pea green one from a few years back.very nice

I agree, it is very classy and you nailed it with the 50's reference. I could however do without that black pearl pickguard. That just seems all wrong for that finish.

I feel like a jerk. I didn't notice your avatar. I didn't realize it was your bass. You make a good point about the black pickup on a white guard. You shouldn't listen to me anyway. Once when I was little and very sick, my mom placed a pink and black humidifier in my room. I just remember being sick and looking at that dang thing and I have never liked black with pickish hues ever since. No Joke.

I apologize, it is without a doubt a beautiful bass.

IMO white or white pearloid, looks cool even with the black pickup. Ive done that to a few of mine.

Oh someone who loves sparkles as much as I do.

I have to know what the bad mojo was on that lav bass? It sounds like the cursed idol that Greg Brady found in Hawaii. This could be serious.
