Leather guitar strap

i just got a beautiful leather guitar strap for christmas. but when i put it on it drags my shirt down. i like to move around on stage, but the strap keeps pulling at my shirt. i want to keep the strap, because it goes so well with my SR4. is the anything i can do to the strap to reduce the friction?
