I found "Louis Johnson: Instructional Bass (2005)" - will check it out...

Would be interested in real-world experience - that is, what has worked for folks and what has proven to be a waste of time. :confused:
 
I saw the LJ video a couple of times but he is going so fast that it was hard to follow what he was doing. I guess it is a teaser to get you to buy his video. On the other hand, there is a guy, with SR5, who posted a video on how to double thump, ala Wooten. The funny thing is, that he doesn't say anything; he just gestures a lot but he does slow down the movement so you can get an idea how the technique is performed. Also, he does a little bit of Marcus Miller.

That is seriously awesome, LOL

I have never been able to "slap", for lack of really trying to learn it,
but what this guy does makes me want to take some lessons :o

edit: being suddenly without a band, I think that's exactly what I'm gonna do!
