Sweet lookin bass. My next EBMM purchase is either gonna be desert gold or lava pearl. That Desert Gold looks killer with that white pearloid guard
 
From the Norstrand add: "The original pickup sounds clanky by comparison." That's pretty classless if you ask me... That is the same approach Duncan takes and I know BP is not impressed.

Also, I'm sure it needed Norstrand's fretwork. :rolleyes:

Nice bass, though, in spite of the changes.

While I think Carry maybe exaggerating a tad bit about the sound of the stock pickup, I think what he said about the fretwork is alright. He probably just rolled in the edges on that Sterling, which would make it similar to how my old Reverend felt.

I didn't think that Desert Gold looked really good on anything but a Bongo, but I have to admit that's schweet.

I'm waiting (impatiently) for the perfect day to photograph my new Desert Gold/Tort Bongo. I live in Connecticut, which is PRIME fall foliage territory. The very idea of the combinaton of blazing autumn colors, the Connecticut hills, my Bongo and the late afternoon sun is making me drool.

And it's raining here this weekend. DAMMIT.
 
I traded him for a Stingray 5, I wasn't really using it to its full potential and once I saw that Desert Gold it was on. The bass feels so smooth and the tone is unbelievable, I'm definetly a believer in Nordstrand pickups.

I've had tons of Musicman basses with and without stock pickups and this pickup just made the bass even better.

Well....Carey is entitled to his opinion. "Clanky" is not a term that comes to mind when I think of the Sterlings I have owned.

Nonetheless, that is a sweet looking bass and you are welcome here amongst the few, the proud, the insane.

He did say 'Clanky in comparison'. Which presumably means that his pickup spunds much different than stock.
