Love the guitar on the cover of this book

I spend over a year tracking that same guitar down. I loved it so much, I bought a plain reflex for playing and leave my 25th as a case queen. It is not normally something I would do, but it is so exquisite of a guitar that I don't want to mess it up, with even normal wear and tear. I have the quilted and much prefer it to the flamed axis, that I also have.

Yeah, the 25th is pretty amazing. Every time I see a used one I am very tempted. My 25th is a bass, and it's a beauty.

Good story, Chad! I'm glad you got your hands on one.

Is the 25th in any way different than the Reflex, other than the body color?

Pls anyone tell me there are more signifcant differences than just a fancier top.....and give me an excuse to buy one, in addition to my Reflex!

They are identical, except the highly figured top and select bird's eye maple neck, as far as I can tell.

The 25th also has the vintage Axis tuners and the reflex has modern alloy tuners, I just noticed. My reflex feels slightly lighter and sounds brighter (but this could be the Reflex finish and all maple neck, as opposed to the 25th's finish and rosewood fingerboard over maple neck). They both have the same hardware, nut, bridge, etc. Afaik.

Does the 25th have small fretboard dots, like the Axis ss? It looks like on some images, but I'm not sure.

Yes!!! Pearl inlay small dots. Very classy.
Here's mine:

Mine has the rosewood fretboard and I would have never noticed that, had you not mentioned it...but yes, the reflex has larger black dots and the 25th has mother of pearl inlayed fretboard dots. Thanks for the clarification.

One more question, on the mentioned vintage tuners, are they locking?

I consider myself to be VERY fortunate as I have a 25th Anniversary and also a Reflex Black Sugar finish with the burnt maple neck and ebony fret board, difficult to choose which one to choose when reaching for a guitar !!!

The 25th neck is beefier than the std reflex too. I have both and everything above is correct but no one mentioned the neck radius.

The 25th seems heavier to me, especially on the neck side. They're both amazing axe's. They've put most of my other guitars on the shelf.

My 25th just sings. Very bold sound with amazing acoustic sustain.
