It started with the Buttercream, where I thought it was something like "vintage vibe", but then the 2006 black/gold has fret board dots as well:confused:

I think putting dots on the Bongo takes some of the look of the bass away...

I asked about that when I saw the pics of the LE Bongo. It was more out of curiosity than anything else.......no answer to that has been given yet that I know of. Patiently waiting if anyone has the "real deal" answer. I could care less myself, just more of an observation really.

I guess you could always do the ultimate "pimp my axe" on the LE by drilling out the round white dots and replacing them with gold disks ....... now if they were pacmen it would be a lot more difficult.

Yeah, that's probably the reason;)
Pacmen would be too hard to remove for sure.

Sorry to dissapoint on the dots instead of crescents on the Bongos, but we would of had to buy lifetime supply of Buttercream crescents for a limited run instrument and it just didn't make good business sense. But I think the dots give the Limited Edition a more customized look and shows off the Buttercream better than the crescents would of.

Alrighty then. I take it, the dots on the 06 LE bongo were for the same reason?!?

Thanks for the update.

Ok, I get it.
The dots on the 2006, I do not get? Unless they ares ome other colour than standard also?

Would it be possible to get a 2006 LE Bongo with normal crescent dots?

The dots and nut on the LE 2006 are buttercream just like the LE 2005. This is to match the 5-ply black/cream pickguard and we felt that the buttercream looked better with all of the gold embellishments as well.

That makes sense. There simply haven't been any pictures that show the true color co-ordination of the 2006 LE.

Can I get a trans-purple Bongo sixer with psychodots?

I'll see your trans-purple Bongo sixer with psychodots and raise you one lefty piezo short scale with recessed straplocks and an ebony fretless fingerboard. Wait....that would rule out the psychodots.
