I've noticed 2 different type bridges on a used Sterling & a Stingray. The bridge is larger than most and appears to have 4 poles or large screws just before the pickguard. Can you explain this, please.
 
I think they might be mutes, but if you have pix, that would help.
 
OK. Thanks. All I had to work with were pics. Would they be older models since I don't see the same style bridge on the newer models?

That's a late 1995 Sterling with a transitional bridge.
