Hey guys, just got back from the show and it was absolutely killer! DT started up 5 minutes early at 7:25 and played the same setlist as in Dallas but they rocked hard and JP was spot on of course. There was a guitar change for every song and the detailed list is below (he really likes blackburst!). The onlyl negative was that Jordan was barely audible at all and in the beginning Petrucci's leads were a little too delay heavy and unless you know his solos by heart (which of course I do) the casual listener would have had a tough time hearing what he was doing. They got it fixed about halfway through the set. Here it is:

As I Am - Silverburst BFR
Rite of Passage - Blackburst BFR
Home - Blackburst BFR (different then above because of tuning)
Constant Motion - JPX makes an appearance!
Panic Attack - Blackburst BFR
Pull Me Under - Mystic Dream

I did take a couple pics with my iPhone but they are absolutely not worth posting as I was about halfway between the stage and lawn seating and the pics actually look like I'm further away then I really am. But it was a great set and they played with a lot of energy.

Maiden - unbelievable. I can't believe Dickinson and these guys are in their 50s and they run around like that on stage. It's crazy. They put on one helluva show and I was very impressed. If you have the chance to get to this tour, DO IT!

Thanks for the review, Eric !
DT and Maiden are my favorite bands so I imagine how great was the night.
Adrian Smith is one of the reason why I became guitarist !

Nice, I really want to see DT again but I'm not really a fan of Iron Maiden, so I'll just wait til their next tour. Good to see he's bringing out the Mystic Dream again, I found a video of him using it on Youtube.

By the way, might be worth mentioning, the Blackburst on Panic Attack is probably a baritone. JP must really like that color haha.

Black burst, eh? 6 songs only for DT?
I heard the Maiden set list was pathetic, they totallly pumped the new material and ignored a lot of the classics.

How can you say that ????
If you want to hear the classic, just buy all the DVD of Maiden you can find ...
I think it's courageous. They play the new stuff and I think it's great.
Personally, I have seen them in 1984, 1986, 1987 - no Adrian Smith - 1999 (oh, Adrian is back ;)), 2001, 2003, 2005, 2008 thus I can live without The Trooper !
I would like to hear old songs, but the one they did not play : To Tame a Land, Alexander the Great, The Duellist ...

Up the Irons !

Agreed 100%
I'm thrilled they're focusing on post-reunion material.

Maiden's setlist is great. They ran into these same complaints when they played the entire A Matter Of Life And Death album on the 2006 tour, yet they were still filling arenas, and it was their highest charting album. Maiden's audience is actually filled with as many young fans now as it is with bitter 50 year olds who want two hours of Run To The Hills.

Since Bruce and Adrian returned to the band in 1999 Maiden has toured on the classics 4 times;

1999-Ed Hunter Tour, nothing but classics
2002-Give me 'Ed Tour, nothing but classics
2005- Early Days tour, nothing but classics
2008-Somewhere Back In Time Tour, nothing but classics

In between those tours Maiden has released and toured on 3, and once Final Frontier is released in August it will be 4 albums. If after 10 years people still can't figure out Maiden's touring pattern then too bad, they can wait until the next history tour.

Thank goodness they are ignoring them. They have 10 years worth of new, and mostly very good Maiden material. And having seen them a bazillion times since 1983 I am perfectly fine if I never hear the majority of the "classics" again. Good for them for being willing to do this, and too bad for the people who think Maiden's last album was Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son.

Not to mention that in manys cases the "classics" aren't even the best songs from those classic albums.

There is also no reason DT (as I much as I love them) should get more time than they have. They are an opening act receiving the time an opener usually does. Their six songs happen to take up 50 minutes.

Yeah, Maiden's setlist was great in my opinion, of the 16 songs they played I have/am familar with 10 of them and I enjoy the entire set. They played 4 songs off of Brave New World which is probably one of if not my favorite Maiden record so I loved it. Even if you don't know their songs (which my bro and dad didn't) it's worth seeing them play. Soooooo much energy and enthusiasm for guys in their 50s it's amazing to say the least. Not too mention the ridiculously cool banners that changed for every song and the (I guess) robotically remote controlled Eddy that comes out!!

@ kdj771 - I was a little too far away to notice if JP had a beard or not, sorry!

And yeah, I knew Panic Attack was a baritone that's why I said he had a different guitar for every song. :)
