Missed the JP clinic in my hometown

I love EBMM, I love JP, shoot I even like Perry at Express Music here in Seminole, but today I'm bummed and a little angry. There was very little word until literally the very last minute about this clinic today. It's magically up on the websites now, but it hasn't been for long.

There's a John Petrucci Clinic going on in the town I live in right now as I type. I work an hour away, so I can't get there in time.

For months I've been scouring the boards, websites, etc looking for a John Petrucci clinic schedule. I was told by someone who talked with him at NAMM that he would do one here this year.

I'm very disappointed. Please - whoever's in charge of scheduling these things - get the word out better.

Thanks.

P.S. - I do have good seats for Dream Theater tonight. I always see them when they come through - but I would have loved to see JP and get my Guitar signed.

Hey Guys,

We just found out that John's Equiptment did not make it in time for todays clinic.

Unfortunatley he will have to just have a store signing instead.

The good news is we will schedule another clinic next time Dream theater comes through town. We hoping next winter when DT has their own headling tour.

Sorry for the confusion this may have caused but we will get JP back to the store soon.

Best

Derek

Yeah, that's the one. That's the store I frequent (EBMM, MESA, Rivera, all top notch stuff there) I've been busy moving so I haven't dropped by in a couple of weeks.

Oh well . . .

DT tonight. (Focus on the positive:) )

This may sound crazy, but couldn't he just pick up a jp in the store and plug it into a mesa?

Glad his pen made it.
;)

I just got a call from John and that is exactly what he did. I do not think anyone knew the difference except JP told them he did not have his normal backing tracks.

JP started burning and questions followed. A quick history lesson and poof full blown clinic.

Thanks JP for improvising and pulling off a great clinic in spite of it being non-routine.

Of course we are still going to have him back in the near future to perform again.

Hey k
He pulled one off the wall ripped for them and then when asked why he switched from Ibanez, he said really nice things about quality and design but said the prople were a big difference. He said I can pick up the phone and call the owner. When I come to the factory I stay at his house...that didnt happen before.....Someone challenged him about being able to call me and he dialed my cell and put me on the speaker phone...It was fun.

That must've been a classic moment!

Were you at all tempted to say you need to put him on hold because you have jack white on the other line?*

*joke influenced by Luke's hilarious baked potato greeting

(with apologies to the forum member who doesn't like 2 regulars riffing)

That's cool!
I'm honestly here because of the awesome guitars, but that is just an added bonus to this whole EBMM family!!!!

Is there a listing some where with the clinics???????

The Music Man website has the clinics listed under each artist. John Petrucci has a listing schedule for Clinics and meet n greets(autograph session only).

Sometimes we just aren't able to post the clinics in a timely fashion due to tour schedules, etc .. in this case we had a little less than two weeks to get the word out. Perry, the owner of Express Music, did his best to get the word out to the locals as well. Despite the short promotional time, his store was filled to over capacity. He actually had to lock the doors because he couldn't let anyone else in and there were untold dozens looking in from outside. John did a fine job despite thinking that he was only going to a signing, as has been stated. We will certainly do it again at the next opportunity and we will try to do better to get the word out. Thanks to all who made it possible! We will have some pictures to post soon.
