Hi all. Was wondering if anyone could shed some light on a question that's been bugging me for a long time.
I have 2 stingrays(both 4 string); one is fretless with 2 band eq, and the other is fretted with 3 band eq. I have both since 1992(bought new), and have always noticed a much better output gain from the 3 band eq fretted guitar. So much, that during gigs when I swap guitars over I need to alter my settings on the amp and guitar volume etc to compensate.
Both guitars are physically set up in the way i.e string height etc.
I brought them to an electronics engineer and the only circuitry difference he could see was a different I.C. (integrated circuit) component.
Anybody experience something like this or solve a problem like this???

Many thanks.
