SR5 Electronics question...

Ok, this question has probably been asked a zillion times, so I apologize if that's the case...

I was wondering if someone could elaborate more on exactly what the selector switch does on a SR5, which setting is what, and how it all works electronically...

Also, does the selector switch operate the same on a lefty as it does on a righty?

All I know is that when the switch is toward the back of the bass it has a scooped-mids sound... more lows and crispier ane snappier highs. When it's all the way towards the neck, it sounds more like my four with more throaty low-mids and less crispy highs, and when it's in the middle it sounds quite a bit thinner than either of the other two.

As long as I've been playing, I've always been curious as to the specifics and never really asked.

Ahh, okay.. a 'Ray... well you've brought your question to the right place.

I believe our moderator Rod Trussbroken can answer any conceivable question about a Stringray. I'm sure he'll post something to your entire satisfaction within a short time.

switch towards the bridge= parallell (classic Stingray sound)

towards the neck = series

middle = single coil mode (coil towards the bridge) all of this can me found at:

Hmmm... ok... thanks.

It's odd that my neck position sounds way more like my SR4 than the bridge does, though.

I wonder if it was wired in reverse.
