Just thought I would share my collection as it stands. I played them all today and my MM90 is still my number one. What an awesome guitar.

I have had an MM90 axis sport for a short time and am going back and forth between its tone and the tone I used to love in the Les Paul with P-90's. The MM90 has a better clean tone (country??) but I can't get the Fat sound and growl that I used to get with the Paul (bluesier??). I guess a heavy slab of mahogany and maple make a big difference.

Right now, I suppose the axis is a "fence sitter" until I decide if it fits what I'm doing. But awsome playing axe without a doubt. Probably best one in my stable next to the Morse.

Nice group of gits... I like the look of the Reverend... What's the neck like on the Rev compared to the Axis?

Jimi - the last version of the USA reverend necks were based on vintage strat necks, 62 if I remember correctly from when I bought mine. Satin finished with a C-shape, rolled edges, medium jumbo frets, a medium front to back profile and a tad wider at the nut than the Axis. Very comfy and playable. No issues going back and forth AL / SS / Rev for me. Don't know if any changes were made since they have dropped US production and moved it to Asia. Although I believe final assembly is still US.

I agree, pretty much a 60's strat neck. I tend to have a few guitars that I will never part with (My Axis Super Sport) and others I keep for a year then let someone else give them a go and get something else. I think I am close to putting the Rev. up on evil bay. They are great guitars and the turned aluminum is hard to come by.
 
I recently fell in love with P-90 guitars; didn't know what I was missing all these years!

I have an inexpensive PRS SE Soapbar II that I've upgraded with a set of Lollars. ;)

But a Axis SS MM90 is definitely somewhere in my future. Probably with piezo too! :cool:

Hey, how do you like the Lollars? I've heard so much good stuff about them, and I'm looking at upgrading the Duncans in my PRS McCarty Soapbar.

The goldtop pictured has Lollar P90's. I also upgraded the caps and pots from RS Guitar works. The Lollar pickups are awesome and I love the tone that I get out of the les paul. I have to say the MM90 pickups are excellent and I would never change them out. That is the difference between Gibson and Ernie Ball IMHO. The MM90 is perfect the way it is, no upgrade needed.

I'll second the impression on the Lollars; magnificent pickups, on the guitar I have them on, that is a set-neck mahogany body.

I cannot say how they would sound on, say, a Tele. On the PRS and through my Univalve or Vox, the little suckers really sing! ;)
