I notice we have some Dallas area forumites that I haven't met!

My band, if we can be called that, is playing this weekend at the Highland Village Balloon Festival.

http://www.hvballoonfest.org/SCHEDULEl.htm

Apparently we are so popular that they've scheduled us twice.

Once on Friday night (18 August) at 10 pm and then again on Saturday (19 August) at 3 pm. I have to assume that on Saturday, given the weather, we will play until we actually burst into flames.

So we'd be more than happy to see you there. This is apparently a very BIG thing, like seven to ten thousand people. This is what I am told.

I cannot promise you that we will be very entertaining. We may actually turn into gelatinous lumps, given the heat, but I can promise you that I, Jack Williams, your moderator here on the EBMM Forum, will be there, playing Music Man basses to the best of my ability.

The band can be seen on video here:

All I can say about these videos is that you might not like me, but you will see the power of the single humbucker Bongo.

Anyway, come on out if you can.

And, while man cannot live by bread alone, I am told there will be beverages.

Jack

Oh, this is bad news indeed.

I'm not entirely sure Cowpilot can gig without your presence, Larry!

Glad to hear you're busy, though, and we'll soldier on as best we can.

I wish I could come, I'm great in a crowd situation... FREEBIRD!!!!

... Plus my standard note given to the bandleader, "... hey, do you guys know anything good?"

Have a great gig Jack, and for the heat, do what I do, play naked.

They should probably stand in tanks of ice water.

My Friday/Saturday gigs this week are both outdoors. The only good part is that they don't start until 8:30 and they are at a restaurant on a marina at a lake.

The Texan that told me that must have been trying to kill himself as well :)

Very cool it would be to see the two of you, sir.

We are scheduled for an hour, which is spoiling us beyond belief.

I wish I could make it, but alas I'm off to New Orleans on Sunday. Especially hearing that the mysterious and often mentioned girl might make an appearance.
