Hey folks!
I've been continuing my trek to be able to sing and play at the same time. It's coming along well, but I keep choosing Luke songs! (then again, it's tough to NOT pick a song that Luke's played on...LOL)

This time it's "Talk To Ya Later" by The Tubes. A true classic, with some of the best lyrics ever put into a song.

I've got the both parts of the rhythm down, but I'm stumbling with the solos...as usual.
I've watched Youtube clips of both The Tubes (Bill Spooner/Roger Steen) and Steve playing it at gigs, but that hasn't helped much. They're usually shot with someone's phone cam from the 400th row. Or the guy has had an erection for more than 4 hours and is trying to take care of it while shooting the show with the other hand. It's so rough it makes my psycho ex look stable.

Any help with the solo sections- or the keyboard parts- (preferabbly TAB) would be appreciated.

And a question for Lucious, if he happens to drop by this thread:
I learned the intro/verse parts as this:

E-------------------
B---2--4--5---------
G---2--4--6---------
D-------------------
A-------------------
E-------------------

...but in videos I've seen of you playing the song, you perform it like this:

E----------0-------
B---2--4---2-------
G---2--4-----------
D------------------
A------------------
E------------------

When I use your method, it sounds like jello being sucked through a McDonalds straw.....but you sound dead-on, exactly like the record.
Am I missing something?
Do I need to put down the EB/MM JPM6 and run out and buy a EB/MM Luke? :)
Any insight would be printed out and framed on the wall.
Thanks!

Dunno I've always played either

E-------------------
B---2--4--5---------
G---2--4--4---------
D-------------------
A-------------------
E-------------------
or
E-------------------
B-------------------
G----6--8--9-------
D----7--9--9-------
A-------------------
E-------------------

Thanks LilSteve.
That first one you listed does sound better.

No surprise that I've been practicing it incorrectly this whole time. LOL
