Is there a band out there that you think should be huge, but isn't?

My sister played a new song from a guy who's been around 12 years (actually a bit longer), and he's just fantastic. Whenever you bring up his name, a bunch of people come out of the crowd and say, "man, he is awesome".

Check out Sam Roberts when you get a chance. He's Great.

Are there any bands you guys think the same way about?

I agree with Beej. Ian Thornley is a stud. The first album with "That Song" was a good album but Albatross is incredible.

The album they put out last year - Albatross - is amazing. My album of the year.

Really? Ok, I'll definitely check them out then. I don't consider myself 'in the loop' when it comes to new albums/music, but this was really under the radar for me.

Holy smoke - that song 'a million days' is unreal. My fav so far - I haven't seen "shredding" that tasteful for as long as I can remember. I can't stop watching the videos.

There's a YouTube clip of Ian Thornley shredding on his JP endorsing Pigtronix. It is well worth the watch.

I guess Albatross is amazing as Beej said, also I like Wishbone Ash and Frankie Miller

well I was playing solo in a jam night and decided to do a medley of Little Feat songs. There was a young lady, early 20's sat in the front, singing away. She explained that she was a big fan and said that she rarely heard anybody playing Feat songs.

So from an older guy, I would say that Little Feat was certainly one of the underated bands - but known by most musicians.

I was lucky to have seen them with Lowell George and also the post Lowell Little Feat with Fred Tackett.
Paul Barrere also used MM gear at some point - namely a sabre guitar.

Did you see the film about Rodriguez? One of the most underrated musicians ever!

I checked him out and Sam Roberts is cool! Good idea for a post. There's lots of good music here I haven't heard before that I'll probably give a listen.

Arcane

They're an Australian Prog Rock band. They are very Dream Theater.

I saw one of their first gigs years ago where they did an album launch with a 24 minute song called Ashes.

My mouth was open in awe for 24 minutes. Was instantly a fan.

Simply amazing.
