Music Man amp questions

I just got a Music Man HD one thirty (with the one thirty written out... uses a 12AX7 as a driver/phase inverter rather than a diode). I'm wondering if anyone can point me towards some in-depth info about the amp. Common issues, mods, etc. The transformer came loose in shipping, and smashed a JJ E34L, and broke the guide pins & bent the snot out of em, too. The seller's shipping me a new quad, though.

Anyway, the specific question I have is whether the amp is fixed/auto or what bias. Also, I have read that it drives the output tubes pretty hard & I should be careful as to the quality of tubes used. True?

The HD-130 is not self biasing, you will find clear instructions for biasing at the above site.

BTW, I installed a set of EH big bottles in mine and they sound great. Have fun with the amp, it's a beauty.

Ok, found out how to bias, but the unit won't power up now. I'm taking to the tech anyhow! Good thing the band's taking a break for the holidays, or I'd be getting antsy!!
