I love my EBMMJP in PR for its playability, ergonomics, sound and look. But one thing is strating to irritate me. It's the action which everyday is other and I have to adjust the truss rod every time I start playing it! I think it’s strange that so great in all other ways axe (and not cheap…) has got such an unresistant neck! Now I play only at my home (for about month the central heating is on – because we have Winter now here in Poland) and I still have to adjust it. For example: yesterday when I started playing it the action was OK, but after about an hour of playing it became higher and I had to turn truss rod a litlle to make it smaller. I am seriously worrying what will be when I take it to first gig in other place (you know: other temperature, other humidity)? Will I have to adjust the truss rod between songs???!!! That’s weird.. This is my fifth guitar and I hadn’t such problems with any of them (my Axis Sport was reliable like a rock!). My question is: WTF is going on ??!!
Sorry but I'm really pissed off

Always make sure that the guitar is aclimated.
Don't leave the guitar in a cold room, then take it to a warm room to play and visa versa.
Alot of people don't think that just driving in a car when it's cool out then going into a warmer room effects the guitar... it does.
Also make sure it's set up properly with the right string tension etc...

I always leave it in the hardcase between climate differences for a good 30-60 mins.

At least you should be grateful that truss rod adjustments on EBMM's can be made so easily! On my Wayne, I have to remove the neck  to adjust the truss rod. But I feel your pain...but hey, I kinda enjoy doing it...its almost like foreplay. Anyhoo, it just makes one realize that EBMM's are the best guitars...I can't imagine haveing one of them other guitars and having to remove this, or that to fine tune one's baby!

Well Lew:
any of these! ;-) It's stored in case everytime I don't play it. And it's in the same room all the time.

SteveLINY:
that's right but - as I said - it's stored in the same room all the time. The string tension and setup is OK IMO.

"I always leave it in the hardcase between climate differences for a good 30-60 mins."

Good Idea Lew - i will try it for sure when I take it first time to gig.

I am Raz, I am :) I really love this axe - it's great in its simplicity!! God Thamks it doesn't have Floyd Rose **** :)

"its almost like foreplay"

I will try to look at it from this point of view :)))

I agree, having to adjust the truss rod after playing a guitar for an hour is not good...
I have owned lots of guitars (150 much to my wifes chagrin) and none of them had to have the trussrod adjusted in the middle of playing from the neck changing.

I sold a mystic dream with the most awesome birdseye neck that everyday I had to adjust the truss rod and it was studio kept in an controlled environment. Sorry guys, but that's just not right. I think the neck sealing that they do aftermarket at the factory is supposed to cure alot of these problems.
I just don't know why they don't do it to begin with when they sell the guitar because from what I hear it doesn't affect the feel.
Is the sealing step a free process if I send my guitar in? Anyone know?

Maybe with the JP's 1/32"-1/64" action, buzzes caused byweather changes are more noticeable!

So I am not alone... :) :( Anyone more ?? In that point I have to say that the overall greatness of EBMMJP is a little exaggerated. I'm very sorry to say that...
:( :( I really love this guitar though..... Anyone more from EB forum has this issue with his JP??????

I would understand this conversation much better if I know what exactly is neck sealing :) . I have a JP6 PRB bare bones model on order (my first EBMM guitar) and I hope this problem does not exist. Thanks!

Yes I have somehow exact problem and I'm starting to hate my JP. I also have another problem that I cannot get rid of the buzzon the A and D string no matter how hugh the action is, as I wrote in a thread dedicated to this problem. I switched back to my Axis, my Ibanez JPM and my JEM7VWH. I really feel bad.

I wish I wouldn't have the same feelings but I' m not sure about it. I dreamed about this axe - believe me or not - about 4 years!! Now I've got it for 2 months and I feel still more disappointed. I'll give it half a year chance. If it won't be better I sell it and try .........I don't know what :-((

Believe me, I dreamed about it to. And it wasn't easy to earn so much money to buy a new one. I wish it worked well.

that's me alright... just bought my second Luke limited edition in radiance red with piezo (my 1st is envy green limited with piezo) so I have to pay for that by selling the Petrucci. The Luke just works better for me. I have lots of other guitars but I do so love my Luke!! (And it's twin coming next week...!)

by the way, my Luke has never had the neck adjusted since I got it and has not need it. Maybe it's the difference between a 24 and 22 fret neck in the Ernie Balls...
