Hi everyone. I have been hanging out in the forum for a week or two but was waiting to introduce myself until I officially became an EBMM owner. Yesterday I drove two hours each way to pick up the bass I have been dreaming about for the past 10 years. An SR5!

I am a lefty and have only ever seen one other lefty EBMM bass and was totally smitten with it. Obtaining a new guitar is not an easy thing for me these days as family, mortgage etc has seriously curtailed any GAS issues I have been inflicted with.

But lately I have been realizing that I'm not getting any younger, and the one bass I have always wanted was only going to be a possibility if I "cleaned house" and traded in some other basses. So it turns out, Long & Mcqaude had the exact SR5 I had been planning to order in another city and after trading away two other basses, I took delivery of my dream bass yesterday.

Its trans orange with a rosewood board and the black pearloid pickguard. I've had some nice basses before but I gotta say, watching the salesman bring out this bass still in the shipping box, and open it up was just about the coolest thing thats happened to me in a while!

First of all the Music Man case is really impressive. And the SR5 inside took my breath away. The first thing the salesman said was "holy crap it has a one piece body!" I didn't even plug it in in the store!!

Needless to say I have been in a state of rapture ever since! I cant stop drooling over it. I could go on for hours about the fit and finish, the amazing feel of the instrument and the sound, but most of you here likely well familiar with how great and truly high class these basses are. I am completely over the moon with this bass and do not expect the "honeymoon stage" to end any time in the forseeable future.

This bass may very well be the last bass I ever need and I have to say, I don't think I could ask for more. Big kudos and appreciation to Sterling and evryone at EBMM for such a well made instrument!

I apologize for the crappy pic but I don't have much of a camera. I would love to hear comments from other SR5 owners regarding these babies.

You may not feel the immediate need to ask for more but, by golly, BP has definitely made it so you can.

Welcome aboard. Very nice rig. Glad you managed to pick up such a beautiful beast. Not too many trans orange around these parts.

Thanks! I briefly thought about waiting for the HH version to be available left handed but there was no way I was going to let this bass pass me by. I will work on some better pics. The colour is incredible to see in person!

Welcome B-Unit, I'm always happy to meet another lefty on the forum, and a beautiful bass you have there sir.

But your story is at the heart of the issue, left or right, the joy of seeing a new EBMM bass... well, that brought a tear to my eye. And I do understand the added joy of finding the "lefty" of your dreams.

Enjoy that gawjis bass and I raise my beer to ya, and of course that beer will be in my left hand.:D

Have fun here, really good folks here, make yourself at home.

Glad you like it......if you stick around maybe chuck will make you prince of lefthandzia.

The coolest part of lefthandzia is that is where they make the left handed butter knifes.
As a lefty butter knives for your rightys are a little difficult

Congrats on the new bass. I'm still saving up for my first order. Love your rig, too. I've been using Eden Speakers for years.

Thanks for all the compliments everyone. Hmmm prince of Lefthanzia! could be fun. haha. I have to admit, I have spent more time and effort getting my rig together over the past few years as left handed amps and speakers are easier to come by.

The combo of the SR5 and the growl of the RB800 do go well together. My 1X15 cab is not the XLT version so I may not be able to get all the low B booty I'm hoping for. But that cab does have a fantastic growl and compliments the 2X10.

It sure feels great to have a truly pro instrument. I was up way to late last night playing, then staring lovingly, then playing some more haha!

Lovely, lovely bass, man! :D
I totally understand the feeling of seeing it for the first time, when you open the
case... Was the same when I got me first SR5 last year, could'nt believe how
gorgeous they are! Have fun!

I really dig that pickguard.... I think that would look good on my Honeyburst...

Congrats on your new SR5, That thing is BEUTIFUL!!

I've got a 2004 Radiance Red SR5 LTD. I haven't even had it for a month yet. Needless to say, it hardly ever leaves my hands. :D

Enjoy!

The Radiance is really nice. I had never seen the black pearloid guard in person before and was truly impressed. To tell you the truth, just about any colour combo would have made me happy but the transparant colours are really me preference. The trans orange is so rich looking.

Now if BP and the boys would bring back trans green, I may have to risk life and limb to get a fretless!
