So I was able to score a used Axis in Guitar Center in pretty damn good condition for just under $800 today.... it was WAY too good of a deal to pass up and man those guitar are tone machines like no other. They really have their own wonderful thing going on.

Here's my dilemma... remember that cream-white Silo i have? Well I've just spent $900 on that Silo about $200 modding that thing to my specs and after a lot of considerations, I think I kinda like the Axis BETTER! I mean, it's cool that i have an HH Silo with Evolutions, a push-pull splitter and a floyd, but aside from the pickup model and the push-pull the xis has a very similar setup, and I kind of like the way it carries the Floyd better.

I love that Silo. I also love the Axis... and if I'm going to have two MMs I'd like one to be real different from the other.

My plan is to play them both, decide what to do with the Silo, and then swap guitars with another different Silo or just sell it for cash and let the Strat cover the other bases. I'm not gonna mod the Axis... its just too cool the way it is. And I LOVE modding guitars so thats a big thing for me not to touch something and leave it as it. It also says a lot to be able to meet and exceed my standards for a guitar. If i do decide to sell the Silo and get another MM I'd most likely get a hardtail HSS Silo Special or an Albert Lee.

If I do sell the Silo... how much should I expect for it? quicky rundown... '95 Silo with a floyd, modded to Dual HH with master volume, master tone and the push-pull tone pot is a global coil splitter. The knobs are chrome, too and I've added Straplocks. What do you think would be a fair asking price for this now that its been changed?

What do y'all think?

Honsetly.. Keep them both. If you are gigging and one claps out, you need something you know and can realy on to get you through without changing your sound too much.... save up and get another 2nd hand . I would get another, but my kid needs shoes!

Oh yeah the Evo sounds GREAT. It's actually an Evo II so its not quite as hot and a tad bit smoother and more harmonically complex.

I think I'll play both for a while and decide what to do with them.
