I was jamming with a friend laste week and I use Monster Cables and I was using my JP6 and we were going for a beer break I took the cord out but part of the cable stayed in my JP! I guess Monster Cable uses a "pin" end on the 1/4 inch so that some how is not coming out of my guitar. Its stuck! So I contacted both EBMM and Monster Cable and the cost for repair will be about $70.00 I was told by EBMM customer service. and MC is going to help me file a claim for the damages. So it will be taken care of but man this sucks.

I've had that happen twice before with my JP, but the good thing was I got two new moster cables out of the deal. But that's why I don't use monster cable anymore, I've never really liked them in the first place.

I just wish I didnt have to send my JP away for the repair. I cant live with out it! But its cool I still have my Axis and other non EBMMs that can tide me over.
How long do you think it will take for a replacement Preamp and a full setup with the shipping time from me in Illinois to San Luis then back to me in Illinois?
And thats the second Monster Cable that went down the crapper on me in less than a year. Im going with the Planet Waves Circit Breaker Cables.

Ernie Ball should make a stereo cable for their piezo-equipped guitars. Stereo angled plug at one end, and a pair of mono straight plugs at the other. 15' to 20' length would be perfect.

Jon, why not? I have a right angle planet waves cable that I bought specifically for my JP. It's not the circuit breaker (or short as it were) type, but it does have the little compressing spring around the shaft to keep it snug. Should I not use it?

I think I know which ones you're talking about - the kit for interconnecting stompboxes, right? I'm talking about the standard cables. The guitar cables I've seen have a set of 'springs' about midway up the shaft that compress when you plug it in. Interesting that Petrucci is mentioned in their artist list - especially if they shouldn't be used with EBMM. This page even shows one being plugged in to a guitar that will be familiar to many of us...

With the extra pressure from those springy things on the cables in question, there is more outward force on the inside of the jack, and I have seen jacks get bent out of shape because of it.
Just my opinion here from what I have seen on a few instruments.
I am NOT saying they should not be used, just that I would not use them, for whatever that is worth.
If there's even the slightest potential of causing damage, I'd rather avoid it than take the chance. Thanks for the insight.

Just an update... i ended up building my own stereo cable using Canare "quad star" cable and Neutrik connectors, all from Redco.
I designed it so the split is exactly as i needed it on my pedalboard. The magnetic mono end is about 18 inches longer. I have a right-angle stereo Neutrik plug at the guitar end and two straight mono Neutrik plugs at the magnetic and piezo ends.
It's a fantastic cable, and it only cost me about $20 in parts and a couple hours of soldering.
