hey whats up everyone.. my new used Stingray has a tiny string buzz on the d string on the "G"(5th fret) and I can hear it with the volume down and trebly but not sure if I'll hear it through the cabs til next tuesday,..

heres my ? --> this bass has that wheel that adjusts the neck can I just turn it tighter say to the next hole and that should take the buzz out of it or is it loosen it? when I aim down the neck above the E string I see a nice swoop (valley) and when I aim down the G I see the valley but I think around the 12th fret it flattens out so Im thinking it needs a small adjustment.

the action seems perfect for me where I hold the strings down on the 12th frets and still have a small space between the strings and the frets a little wider than a 1/16 (im guessing) but it seems normal.

also what aboyut pick-up height? the previous owner had the E side of the pick-up adjusted down almost a half way more than the bottom G side so I put the top of the pick-up back up even but now (about 3/16") I'm curious if theres a set place I should put it? if you can give me a measurement from the top of your pick-up from the body for a ballpark unless mine sounds good.. and finally my bass is E10350 and I can't figure out what year it is cause the colors are not matching, I used that EB serial# link stickied here?

this is my first musicman so thanks for any advice, Taj

i have the E side of my pup lower than my G side too. there's some "rumor" about a weak G on Ray's.
The stories you've heard just may be true... ;)

This is the issue that brought me here in the first place - Check it out!

thank you for that Date I couldn't figure it out I kept coming up with a blue bass using that serial Number?

anyway I'll listen for that volume difference with the strings and if I have to I know where the pick-up originally was and put it back there. this bass is awesome, I always wanted one and for some reason bought everything else and I don't know why, but I know now I love playing again and coming up with riffs on this thing!
