Just wondering how each model earned it's own name. I'd be cool if somebody of forum elders who dug a lot of MM history can bring some light to the neophytes :) And maybe you guys have some interesting hot facts about these beasts)

So what do we have?

Stingray
Sterling
Big Al
Bongo
Reflex

Did I miss something? I guess we can add Sabre to this list to.

Add Cutlass to the list

Half answer 4U ... A cutlass is a graphite
necked Sabre. But I got no clue how the
Sabre name originated.

Bongo was just a project name ... wasn't
espozed to be the market name, but it's
better than 'toilet seat', so it stuck.

StingRay ? Well, it came from the same
company that gave us the Mustang and
Jaguar. So there seems to be more than
a bit of motorheadedness involved :)
Nowz I thimk on it some, maybe "Sabre"
came from "LeSabre" as in "Buick" ? Too
bad it wasn't the 'Deuce and a Quarter' !
