I’m hoping the show goes on! I feel for everyone in CA these days.
Guys, Anaheim is like 45 miles from the fires. So unless NAMM decides to shut it down (and lose tens of millions) to avoid bad optics, or unless the state says they don't have enough CHP or Fire personnel available (due to the fires) to allow a big trade show, I think it'll go on. The first day of exhibits isn't until Jan 23, so hopefully 11 days from now the fires will be out and things will start settling down (of course, it's the start of years of challenges for the people who have been displaced).
However, the guys from EBMM need to drive their trailer full of guitars and stuff from SLO to Anaheim and unless they are going to go WAY out of their way, all the freeways and main roads from SLO to Anaheim are closed because they go thru the fires. The 101 might be open?

I was thinking the same thing. I'll be surprised if NAMM happens in wake of these fires, which could very well be going on in 11 days. I don't mean to be negative, but we had a MASSIVE fire here in New Mexico two years ago. It was half a million acres and lasted months. I truly hope the LA fires are over soon, but as we know, the wind and weather can be unpredictable.

Anaheim is relatively far from the wooded areas where fires could occur, however with all the smoke, wind, and water issues in the are, getting there could be quite problematic. A lot of vendors need to load their stuff onto trucks for delivery to the convention center, which then gets built into their booths. These fires are going to mess with all of that, as people try to get out and supplies try to get in. Yes, it's 2 weeks away, but unless things majorly change during that time, that whole area is still a tinder box.

As of Friday night NAMM sent out an email to all members saying that the plan is to still hold the show.
Another email came out Saturday night encouraging attendance.
I don't know what the show will be like this year, but I'll be there unless it gets cancelled.
